While not as pricey or opulent as the GTR, models like this one-owner GTT are terrific platforms to build, drive, and enjoy with almost unheard of miles on the clock.
Exterior Overview
The Nissan of the 90’s and 2000’s was far different than the brand we know today. While we Americans never got to enjoy the fruits of the brand’s domestic market, some 25 years later, we can finally experience iconic halo cars like the R34 Skyline. While not as pricey or opulent as the GTR, models like this one-owner GTT are terrific platforms to build, drive, and enjoy with almost unheard of miles on the clock. Finished in Sonic Silver (KR4), our 1998 looks the part with an OEM plus aesthetic. Set off by a V-Spec II style hood, an optional OEM rear fog light, a factory rear spoiler, and brand new 17″ Enkei wheels, the cosmetics are grade A and show well, although we wanted to note the left rear quarter panel was previously repaired in Japan. Best of all, the 23k miles on the clock are verified, documented, and keep this terrific coupe collectible. Delightful to drive, fun to modify, and stunning at a show, this Japanese Classic does it all, and does it well!
Interior Overview
Completely redesigned for its 10th generation, the R34’s cockpit is about as close to a modern commuter as you can find in any 90’s sports car. Durable materials, abundant safety features, and a full slate of power amenities make this coupe easy to own, and the condition speaks for itself. Upholstered in a two-tone sport mesh, the seats stand up to normal wear and tear like a champ and show no discernible defects. The matching door card upholstery is also in good nick, as are the carpets and headliner above. The dash houses dual SRS airbags, which came standard on this chassis, and the center stack has both digital climate control and flip-out Alpine audio on tap for when you need it. Trudging into the summer months, cold A/C is at the ready and is freshly serviced so you can enjoy the drive from day one. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column, and power windows, power folding mirrors, and locks make daily use a walk in the park. The factory gauge pod is intact and displays real-time data on boost pressure, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. Save for an inoperable exhaust valve switch, the cabin is hard to critique as a whole. In fact, we even retained the factory carpet mats to help you feel good about your classic JDM investment!
Mechanical Overview
Well supported here in the US for both OEM fixes and aftermarket upgrades, the RB25DET under the bonnet is a near perfect performance engine. Ours is also fresh off a recent service by our trained technicians, and a turn-key example ready to drive daily. We accomplished this by performing a full timing belt and water pump service, to get you on track for the next 10 years or 100,000 km. We also installed a new thermostat and flushed out the old coolant with new juice while we were in there. With NEO VVL technology, this 2.5T feels giddy under full throttle, and sounds great through a NISMO catback exhaust, which is mated to an HKS downpipe. It sends power to a factory 5 speed gearbox. Upgraded NISMO suspension keeps the chassis planted to the pavement, and we improved the NISMO swaybars with new rear endlinks. We also replaced the front tension arms to help this R34 ace the state safety inspection. The ABS brakes grab with authority, thanks to new front pads and rotors, and we wrapped the Enkei alloys in brand new rubber. Freshly aligned, this platform tracks straight as an arrow and is comfortable in the twisties. You’ll also stay covered for tens of thousands of miles to come!
