Description

Stock #6980 Powered by a nearly bulletproof V8 sold here in the US, these trucks are easy to service with parts readily available that can be had on the cheap. Exterior Overview The J100 Land Cruiser is a big bad rig. This heavy duty SUV is safe, reliable, and super capable off the beaten path. This 1998 VX Limited is also a looker, with its one-off Bellingham Black paint. Aside from a few dings and a missing factory tire arm, the body is in good shape and this VX Limited model is set off by brand new ICON alloys, an OEM chrome license plate trim, and a factory optional rear spoiler. It also has an underside sure to make any stickler swoon. Fresh off a recent service, this hulk boasts a meager 138k verified and documented miles on the clock. Powered by a nearly bulletproof V8 sold here in the US, these trucks are easy to service with parts readily available that can be had on the cheap. Spacious, practical, and cool, this Japanese Classic would make for one heck of a year-round daily driver that can pull double duty at the beach or campsite. Interior Overview The cabin is in wonderful shape and is spacious and well equipped. Keyless entry makes access more seamless and the cabin materials are upscale and premium in feel. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and dual SRS airbags are standard equipment. The driver benefits from a sleek woodgrain steering wheel, a tilt-adjustable steering column and electric lumbar support. Power folding mirrors, power locks and electric windows all function in typical Toyota fashion, making daily use more enjoyable. The automatic climate control is simple to operate and blasts piping hot heat and cold A/C for those who live in seasonal climates. If you want to keep your passengers supplied with tunes on-demand, brand new USDM BOSS audio was installed, with Bluetooth functionality. The tan textured upholstery is soft to the touch and in good nick. The same material is found in the door cards, which are in equally good shape. The headliner is in good shape, and aside from some stains on the carpets and seatbacks it’s hard to complain about the cabin. Even the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this fine rig, and the third row seatbelts have been retained should you choose to add one in the future! Mechanical Overview The J100 is a beefy body on frame SUV. Its powered by a tough 4.7L V8 that we got here in our domestic market. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2UZ-FE churns to life immediately courtesy of a new 12v battery. A new fuel filter and intake air filter were installed as soon as it got on the lift. A new radiator was tossed in to handle the thermal load of the 2UZ, and we flushed the old coolant for all new juice. The dual overhead cam mill is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that shifts just as it should. To keep things that way, we performed a transmission fluid service and resealed the transmission pan. Underpinned by a Full-Time 4WD system, this rig also includes a center locking differential and low range gearset. It hustles up to highway speeds with ease and is a comfortable freeway commuter. The suspension was heavily refreshed and the ride quality is premium, to say the least. New front lower ball joints, rear upper and lower control arms, and new front sway bar bushings keep things fresh. The ABS brakes feel confident and the power steering is light and easy to articulate. That’s because we flushed the system, rebuilt the rack with new seals, and added new steering rack bushings. New inner and outer tie rods were chucked on to dial in a proper alignment, and the ICON wheels were then wrapped in new 33″ Falken tires. The new rubber looks mean, quells road noise, and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. Turn-key and ready to rock, this terrific Toyota does just about everything well and is road trip ready! *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
