Exterior Overview
A Land Cruiser 100 Series
is
a great investment. They are easy to service, highly collectible, capable, and cool. This 2000 has
loads of
cabin space, a sturdy 4WD system, and is designed with durability and reliability in mind. Classically handsome, this White Pearl (057) over Champagne Gold Metallic (586) VX Limited is set off by OEM rainguards, privacy tint, and WEDS Keeler alloy wheels. Aside
from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good shape, and this
third-row
equipped SUV is fresh off a recent service. Having logged a scant 50k verified and documented miles on the clock, this baby is barely broken in. Safe, sturdy, and able to be driven daily year-round, this specification is one of our most requested models. Turn-key and ready to roll, this low mileage Japanese Classic would be a fantastic family hauler, dependable daily driver, or wicked weekend trail toy!
Interior Overview
The cabin is in above-average shape and includes
a number of
factory upgrades and power equipment. The driver and passenger both have electric heated seats and dedicated front SRS airbags. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and the center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. The touchscreen infotainment screen includes the automatic climate controls, and works
like a charm,
aside from some UV damage to the polarized screen. The A/C blows cold and the heat is piping hot in both front and rear climate zones. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a large OEM power moonroof can tilt and retract, and the rear quarter glass butterflies outward. Below, the OEM audio
pipes in tunes to
supplement your commute and drown out the kids. To find the ideal driving position, an electric steering column, power-folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows all work as
expected in typical Toyota fashion.
The rare optional leather upholstery has held up well over the years. Aside from some light age-related wear, the cowhides are in good nick. The rear row can be tucked away against the D pillar, and the middle row can slide forward to accommodate more cargo. The door cards, headliner, and carpets have resisted major abuse over the years, and aside from a non-telescoping steering column, it’s hard to complain about the cabin. Even the owners’ manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase.
Mechanical Overview
The 2UZ-FE is an incredible engine. Sold here domestically, these rigs regularly
log a half
million miles or more. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 4.7L chugs to life courtesy of a new 12v battery. A new fuel filter and engine air filter were installed as part of our tune-up. While on the lift, we also flushed the coolant, so that the V8 could stay running at the right temps. Future fluid checks are made easier with new hood shocks, and everything was topped up in that regard. The 2UZ is linked to a stout automatic transmission. It shifts like a champ, and so it stays that way, we performed a transmission fluid service. Torque is fed to both axles through a Full-Time 4WD system. Equipped with a center locker and low range, this truck can off-road with the best of them. The driveline was bolstered with a front hub service, and we also refreshed the power steering system with a complete rack rebuild. The fluid was flushed, and we installed new rack bushings while we were in there. To dial in a perfect alignment, the inner and outer tie rods were replaced. The Land Cruiser rides on optional active height control suspension. We refreshed the system with new rear upper and lower control arms and rear sway bar endlinks. It rides like a dream over rough pavement and is a comfortable high-speed cruiser. The 18″ alloys are clad in good all-terrain rubber. The ABS brakes do a swell job of slowing down this heavyweight, and aside from a light manifold tick, which is hard to hear once the vehicle has been warmed up, it’s hard to complain about the mechanicals on this awesome low-mileage cruiser as it’ll likely outlive you!
